Teaching & Learning
Saints strives to provide a world-class liberal education accessible to all boys. Our curriculum is broad, relevant and designed to meet the demands of the contemporary society our students will one day join. An innovative, engaging and positive approach to learning and teaching inspires enthusiasm and provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
In order to provide an experience that is both engaging and challenging to each student, it is necessary to know the students as individuals. Each boy comes equipped with their own set of abilities, motivations, attitudes, goals and cultural background. Understanding these unique features allows the teachers to access their skills, experience and knowledge to make the learning experience more interesting, dynamic and personal.
Differentiated instruction is a teaching strategy adopted at St Peter’s College in which teaching is tailored to meet the needs of the individual. It may be the varying content, processes, products or the learning environment itself which caters for the variance among learners. The use of ongoing assessment and flexible grouping makes this a successful approach to instruction.
