Senior School

We believe that to teach boys well, you must know them well and understand their strengths, hopes and ambitions for the future and provide an environment where they are safe to be themselves. An important part of what we do is to take the time to develop a unique awareness of each individual boy.

In the Senior School our boys are allocated to a House which helps to develop a sense of belonging and collective identity. The social and emotional and academic development is managed by a significant team of teachers. In Years 7 and 8, boys are looked after by a Year 7 and 8 Coordinator and a team of dedicated mentors. From Years 9-12, boys are assigned a mentor and Head of House who manage our boys’ pastoral care.

Since 2011 we have started to adopt an evidence-based approach to wellbeing across the School based on the work of Professor Martin Seligman and other leaders in the field of resilience and Positive Psychology. Our approach places the boy at the centre of all discussions to ensure that we are creating an environment that allows him to thrive.
