International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) is an opportunity for academically able students to shine on a national, and international stage. While musicians and athletes have a variety of competitions at this level, ICAS in one of the most prominent places for academics to compete across different academic domains. Students in over 20 countries compete in ICAS each year.

Students who undertake the ICAS test are ranked based on their percentile in each year level across every participating country:

Top 1% of students receive a High Distinction

The next 10% of students receive a Distinction

Furthermore, the highest scorer in each state wins the coveted ICAS Medal. One Medal is given per year group in each academic domain.

At St Peter’s College, we believe that boys have the capacity to write and read at the highest levels, despite this not being the national trend. Our teachers have spent the last three years refining their pedagogy in these areas to ensure that boys achieve their potential.
