Renewing a Legacy | RT Potter Room
Since 1847, Old School House has stood as a cornerstone of St Peter’s College – a place of tradition, learning and connection. Over the years, it has served many roles, from a boarding house and classroom to the Headmaster’s office and a Chapel.
Dr Michael Jay AM (DAC 1964) with his grandsons George Bass (Year 9), Jonathan Bass (Year 6), James Wallett (Year 5), and Thomas Wallett (Year 8) in the RT Potter Room, which has welcomed many generations of his family.
As part of our commitment to preserving this important heritage precinct, we are undertaking a phased renewal of Old School House. Phase One focuses on restoring the RT Potter Room, named in honour of the late Dick Potter, a much-loved teacher, mentor and coach.
Located on the first floor, overlooking Main Oval, the RT Potter Room has long been a place of inspiration. While it remains a fitting tribute to Mr Potter, it now needs refurbishment to meet the needs of today’s learners.
Our goal is to raise $100,000 to enhance and modernise this space. To support this, the St Peter’s College Foundation will match all donations made to the campaign.
We are grateful for the generous early support already received. With your help, we can complete this renewal and ensure the legacy of educators like Dick Potter continues to inspire generations to come.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our heritage learning environments. Together, let’s honour the legacy of the RT Potter Room while renewing it as an inspiring, contemporary space for learning and reflection for generations to come.
