Plays, Productions and Performances
The co-curricular drama program at St Peters College fosters and develops creativity and imagination by providing opportunities for self-expression. Students have the opportunity to participate in a dynamic array of performances, spanning a rich spectrum of genres. From timeless classics and captivating musicals to cutting-edge contemporary dramas, our productions offer a diverse tapestry of storytelling.
Through these experiences students develop dramatic production skills in acting, directing, producing, staging and lighting. Each year auditions take place for the senior play or School musical and a junior play (involving students in Years 7 to 9) with roles as a performer or as part of the technical and stage crew.
As part of the curriculum, Middle Years students study Drama as a core subject and can participate in a school production. Drama is an elective subject for Years 9 to 12 students.
Visual Arts
Our Visual Arts department is a dynamic space that ignites creativity and fosters talent through both its curriculum and co-curricular offerings. The annual Artist-in-Residence program sees students benefit from firsthand interactions with professional artists and has resulted in a wide array of collaborative artworks displayed prominently across the School. The Art Club, Digital Art Society, and Augmented Reality Club (ARC) provide platforms for exploration and collaboration, whilst celebrations like Arts Day and participation in SALA exhibitions showcase student works and community engagement.
Art is a core subject in Years 7 and 8, with diverse elective options in Years 9 and 10, enabling students to tailor their artistic journey. This comprehensive approach cultivates a vibrant arts culture and prepares students for specialised pursuits in Years 11 and 12.
