Boarding at SPSC
Boarding holds an important place at the heart of St Peter’s College. Our vibrant boarding community creates a home away from home for boys in Years 7 to 12 from rural and regional areas, interstate and overseas. It’s a place where boys feel a sense of belonging, have the courage to be themselves and make the most of every opportunity.
Our core focus centres around student wellbeing and ensuring our boarding environment has a warm and homely feel where students are well cared for and feel safe.
We want all boarders and their families to feel connected to the School and our staff take a genuine interest in all aspects of every student’s development.
The Boarding Experience
Our boarders are challenged to develop a love of learning that extends them emotionally, socially, spiritually and academically. Individualised support is provided through specialist tutors who value the effort and engagement of boys to realise their own potential.
We celebrate our rich diversity and embrace the unique qualities of each and every boarder. Our boarders form lifelong friendships with their School & Allen ‘brothers’ who hail from across Australia and all over the world.
Facilities
Our modern purpose-built Boarding House provides excellent small dormitory accommodation and private rooms, together with study and leisure areas, for 100 boys. Our Year 11 and 12 students have their own private rooms, allowing them the space and privacy they need as their academic commitments increase.
Meals are enjoyed in the historic Da Costa Dining Hall located in the heart of the Senior School campus. Nutritious meals are made on-site by our passionate team of chefs and dining staff under the guidance of Australia’s leading catering service, Chartwells.
Located on the School campus, just 2km from Adelaide’s city centre, our boarders have 80 acres of magnificent grounds to explore along with access to the School’s sporting facilities including seven ovals, a hockey pitch, 10 tennis courts, a swimming pool and a full gymnasium with weights room.

Rob Green
“By setting realistic expectations, building strong connections and providing opportunities for growth we create a boarding environment that balances high expectations with meaningful relationships.”
Our Boarding Family
Boarding is very much a partnership between students, their families, teachers and boarding staff with each making an important contribution to this exceptional community of learning. We place great emphasis on ensuring our boarders are part of a tight-knit and caring community that values kindness and embraces a sense of family.
A Day in the Life of a Boarder
As a member of our boarding community your son is taught to be independent and responsible for themselves and others. An important part of this independence is learning how to structure their time. Many boys say they enjoy the structure of boarding life as it assists them in developing techniques to organise themselves.
