Music at SPSC

An appreciation for music is developed from an early age at St Peter’s College. Students are encouraged to explore music in a variety of ways to refine their musicianship skills from the Early Years through to Year 12. Your son will have opportunities to perform, compose and apply critical thinking skills to analyse a wide range of music throughout his time at St Peter’s College. Our extensive ensemble program provides opportunities to perform in concerts and participate in interstate and overseas tours.

Focused on participation, enjoyment and excellence, our boys are educated by experienced class specialists, ensemble directors and instrumental tutors. Students who learn an instrument are also encouraged to be part of an ensemble as soon as they are ready.

Our performance calendar encompasses a variety of concerts targeting both curricular and co-curricular areas. Each week more than 20 ensembles and choirs rehearse and around 500 students enjoy private music lessons.
