On Friday 23 November 2018, the 2018 Chinese Language Teacher’s Association of South Australia (CLTASA) Chinese Language Awards Ceremony was held at Elder Hall, University of Adelaide. These annual awards recognise enthusiastic and successful learners of the Chinese language and culture.
This year the ceremony included an address by Dr Ning Zhang, Interim Director of Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide and Dr Frank Qiu, Secretary of the Australian Chinese Medical Association. We also heard from two guest speakers, whose personal Chinese learning experiences were inspiring. Their personal reflections about learning Chinese gave all students in attendance some great tips and assured them that their hard work would inevitably pay off.
In 2018 St Peter’s College was pleased to nominate William Thompson (Year 11) as the recipient of this award. We congratulate him on this achievement and look forward to his continued successes in his language learning.
