As part of their curriculum, the Year 10, 11 and 12 Geography students participated in the 2020 Australian Geography Competition. The competition involves over 65,800 students from 699 schools across Australia. Students complete 50 multiple-choice questions based on Global Geography. The results this year were outstanding with 28% of our students placing in the top 20% of Australia. The following boys received high distinctions for their efforts; Oliver Grieve (Year 9), Campbell Craig (Year 10), Myles Burrough (Year 11), Lachlan Craig (Year 11), Felix Packer (Year 11), Alistair Sarah (Year 11), Guy Strong (Year 11), Nathan Taylor (Year 11), Darcy Tsamaidis (Year 12), Zac Connell (Year 12) and Spencer Reimann (Year 12).
Further to this, Guy Strong (Year 11) placed in the top one percent of South Australia for his year level and is being considered as a potential member of the Australian team for the 2021 International Geography Olympiad in Istanbul, Turkey.
Well done to our Geography students on a magnificent result!
