The OZCHIN Quiz Bowl was organised by CLTASA (Chinese Language Teachers’ Association of SA) for students in Years 7 to 12 from South Australian Public, Independent, Catholic, and Community schools who have an interest in Chinese language and culture. The competition was designed for both Second Language Learners and Background Language Learners.
On Friday 21 June, nine students from Years 7 to 11 participated in this event. Students experienced a competitive atmosphere while participating in the Chinese Knowledge Quiz, Cultural Knowledge Quiz, and Comprehensive Knowledge Team Competition. They also had lots of fun through social interactions with students from other schools.
As a result, Kaien Liu (Year 8) won Third Place in the category of Chinese Second Language Learner Middle Years. Axel Ling (Year 11), Lutanda McLeod (Year 9), and Hugo Satchell (Year 8) teamed up well and won Second Place in the category of Chinese Second & Background Language Learners Years 7 to 12 Team.
