During the last few weeks of Term 1, German students in Years 7, 8 and one class of Year 9s had much fun experiencing the German tradition of Easter egg colouring. They learned about Easter practices and traditions and learnt that in Germany, it is the Easter Hare and not the Easter Bunny, who delivers the eggs.

Students brought hard-boiled eggs to a German lesson in the Fab Lab and engaged in a practical egg-colouring session. Despite a small number of the eggs experiencing accidents in transit, I was impressed with how carefully the boys managed their fragile cargo. They were enthusiastic in their experimentation of colours and patterns and found out how they could easily colour eggs for themselves at home.

Further activities included Easter in Germany research and making cards with German messages.
