Outstanding results at ABODA Festival

St Peter’s College musicians enjoyed an outstanding week of performances at this year’s ABODA SA Band and Orchestra Festival, earning nine gold or silver awards and three Overall Section Winner titles.

The annual festival brings together school ensembles from across South Australia, with each receiving a bronze, silver or gold award according to its level of achievement. An Overall Section Winner is also named as the leading ensemble in each section.

Our ensembles achieved the following results:

  • Senior String Orchestra – Gold Award, Advanced String Section
  • Orchestra – Silver Award, Open Orchestra Section
  • Preparatory String Orchestra – Gold Award and Overall Section Winner, Novice String Section
  • Junior School String Orchestra – Gold Award, Junior String Section
  • Intermediate Percussion Ensemble – Gold Award and Overall Section Winner, Intermediate Tuned Percussion Section
  • Senior Percussion Ensemble – Silver Award, Senior Tuned Percussion Section
  • Junior School Concert Band – Silver Award, Junior Concert Band Section
  • Preparatory Concert Band – Gold Award, Novice Concert Band Section
  • Middle Concert Band 1 – Gold Award, Intermediate Concert Band Section
  • Middle Concert Band 2 – Bronze Award, Intermediate Concert Band Section
  • Senior Concert Band – Bronze Award, Advanced Concert Band Section
  • Symphonic Band – Gold Award and Overall Section Winner, Advanced Concert Band Section, and recipient of the Bob Hower Memorial Award

We are incredibly proud of our students’ performances and the way they represented St Peter’s College, both on and off the stage. These impressive results reflect their commitment, time and dedication, together with the expertise and encouragement of our Music staff.
