Endeavouring to offer our students novel and engaging learning experiences, Agricultural Science has been reinvigorated here at St Peter’s College. Our current cohort of passionate Year 10s are exploring the world of viticulture and oenology on a semester-long journey from grape to bottle.
With great wine so central to South Australia’s identity, and the commitment to provide our students with real-world authentic experiences, we would love to connect our students with members of the St Peter’s College community who could enhance our wine-making course. Alongside our own on-campus vineyard, we are eager for the boys to experience life on a winery as a viticulturalist and winemaker.
We are particularly interested in exposing the boys to the innovative techniques being applied in modern Australian viticulture practices and the scientific operations involved in cultivating vines and grapes. Students will be working hands-on to create a small-scale Saints Shiraz and would greatly benefit from experiencing the processes involved in large-scale wine production.
If you would like to offer your support, to provide our students a unique learning experience in this new elective, please contact Ms. Raquel Hogben, rhogben@stpeters.sa.edu.au.
