On Tuesday 14 February, the Stage 2 Ancient Studies class visited the South Australian Museum. The class went to investigate how the museum collections educate people about the ancient past.

The excursion gave us insight into what sort of life the ancient cultures may have experienced. We were able to grasp an understanding as we visited Indigenous Australian and Ancient Egyptian museum exhibits. The different tools and artifacts gave us insight into how the individuals in each civilisation lived.

We were lucky to have a personalised tour from the University of Adelaide curator of the “Arabana Yanhi! Tanganekald Yan! exhibit during its opening as well.  This exhibit also helped us understand the impact of geography on culture and the importance of preserving language and traditions.
