St Peter’s College is delighted to offer current Year 11 students a unique and exciting opportunity to apply for the Day Family Foundation Prize for Social Entrepreneurship.
After a successful pilot scheme last year, this prize will provide the environment and opportunity for students to develop knowledge, skills and experience in social entrepreneurship.

The prize has been made possible by the generous support of the Day Family Foundation. The foundation was set up in 2011 with the aim to assist in the sustainability and perpetuity of giving.

The prize includes a fully funded three to fourday trip to Melbourne delivered by the Foundation for Young Australians and other selected partners of the School. Students will be accompanied by Mr Jeremy Borgas and will travel during the week commencing Monday 16 April (the first week of the Term 1 holidays). Students will also receive seed funding to undertake a local social entrepreneurship project.

Successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Share their experiences in person with the Day Family and members of staff during Term 2.
  • Demonstrate their learning by identifying or designing a social entrepreneurship opportunity, with a view to delivering it within the School or local community before the end of the 2018 School year and/or participate in, as part of a School entry, the University of Adelaide’s e-Challenge in Semester 2.
  • Prepare a brief report on their experience and learnings before the end of Term 4.

Applications close at 5.00pm on Wednesday 14 March and the successful candidates will be notified by Friday 23 March 2018. Applications can be made by completing the application form and emailing it to Mr Jeremy Borgas.
