The 2026 athletics season proved to be an outstanding one for St Peter’s College, with strong performances across multiple competitions highlighting both the depth and determination of the squad.

At the 2026 State Championships in March, the School delivered an exceptional overall result, finishing the meet with an impressive medal tally of five gold, twelve silver and six bronze. This achievement reflected not only individual excellence, but also the collective commitment of the team throughout the season.

Building on this momentum, SPSC carried its form into the SSSSA competition on 1 April. In a highly competitive field, the team secured second place overall, finishing narrowly behind Trinity College. The result reinforced the consistency of the squad and its ability to perform under pressure against strong opposition.

The season continued with national representation at the 2026 Junior National Track and Field Championships, held in Brisbane from 15–20 April. St Peter’s College was proudly represented by William Cooksey, Oscar Kleinig, Andrei Chemutov and Matteo Tonga, who competed with determination against the country’s best young athletes.

On 6 May 2026, the team competed at the Golden North Schools Challenge at the Bridgestone Athletics Centre in Salisbury. SPSC enjoyed significant success, claiming victory in both the Boys Junior and Intermediate divisions. As a result of these performances, both teams have qualified for the National Competition to be held in Perth in December.
