Saturday 27 August, the Australian Cross Country Championships were held at the Oakbank Racecourse. There was a full day of racing, inclusive of Australia’s best distance runners across all age groups from 10 years to Open age. The following SPSC students nominated and competed on the day.

  • Shreyus Arramraj (Under 14, 3km distance)
  • Archie Braithwaite (Under 15, 4km distance)
  • Stephen Lacroid-Sneyd (14 years, 4km distance)
  • Jonathan Harris (17 years, 6km distance and U18, 6km distance)

St Peter’s College assistant Cross Country coach, Zac Connell attended and our Lead Cross Country coach, Jess Pascoe was a South Australian Team Manager.

It takes a great deal of courage to step out of the local comfort zone and into the big pool of talented national competitors. Congratulations to all boys on doing so. A special congratulations to Jonathan Harris (Year 11) who received a Bronze Award in the U18 men’s race. Jonathan was one of four SA medal winners on the day. The New Zealand runners outclassed the Australians taking out 1st and 2nd place, so effectively Jonathon came first in Australia. Read more here.
