Last term, over 500 students from our Senior School competed in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC). This is the largest annual mathematics competition in Australia and was first held in 1978. It seeks to challenge and extend students’ problem-solving skills in mathematics.
Our School had some exceptional results, with and incredible 98 students receiving a Distinction (Top 20% in SA), 21 receiving a High Distinction (Top 3% in SA) and four students receiving prize awards (issued at the discretion of the AMT for outstanding achievement).
I congratulate these students on their excellent achievements, and the many other students who gave it their best and added to their experience in mathematical competitions.
