The Australian Voice-Chinese Singing Competition is organised by the Australia-China Cultural Promotion Association in collaboration with the Australia-China Young Professional Initiative, the South Australian Art Association, and various local associations in Australia. Launched in 2022, the competition has since become a grand event promoting multicultural integration and deepening cultural understanding through music.

Last year, six Year 8 Chinese language students won the Best Creative Award, and this year, Jack Lai (Year 7 HWK) who sang the song of 送别 (Farewell), received the Future Talent Award. Our Year 9 Singing Group featuring Shreyus Arramraj (Year 9 FLL), Raghu Byka (Year 9 MAC), Sheng Jie (Jerry) Liu (Year 9 SHT), and Charles Nguyen (Year 9 SHT)—won Second Prize in this year’s competition. All participants, along with their parents and friends, are invited to attend the Award Ceremony on 2 November at Elder Hall, University of Adelaide.

Our Year 9 Singing Group has also been invited to perform on stage, showcasing their rendition of 失恋阵线联盟 (“Breakup Alliance”), a classic song originally performed by Grasshopper, a popular Hong Kong pop band from the 1990s. Shreyus, Raghu, and Jerry incorporated dance elements into their performance, elevating their act within just one week. Their energetic and engaging performance was warmly received by the audience at the ceremony. Special thanks to Ms Yue Huang and Reverend Julia Denny-Dimitriou for attending the ceremony to celebrate the students’ achievements.
