On 15 November, the 2025 Australian Voices Chinese Singing Competition was held at Elder Hall, The University of Adelaide. This year marks the third consecutive year our Junior School has proudly participated in this significant event, showcasing our boys’ passion for Chinese learning and performance.

Once again, our students achieved outstanding results. The performance “梁祝 (Butterfly Lovers)” by Aidan Lush (Year 6) and Ethan Zhang (Year 6) won Second Prize overall — an incredible achievement that reflects their talent and dedication.

The following entries were also recognised with Most Creative Awards:

•  “心恋 (Heart Longing)” — Angelos Kasmeridis (Year 6), James Beresford (Year 6)

•  Lion Dance “山河图” — James Wallett (Year 5), Aaron Du (Year 5), Owen Wu (Year 5), Gerald Guo (Year 5), Ethan Li (Year 5)

•  “星辰大海 (Stars of the Ocean)” — Angelos Kasmeridis (Year 6), Aidan Lush (Year 6), Ethan Zhang (Year 6), Sean Zhang (Year 6), Frank Wang (Year 6), Jayden Chen (Year 6), Owen Wu (Year 5), Ian Wang (Year 4), Louis Bai (Year 4), Max Claessens (Year 6)

•  “摘朵马兰花就走吧 (Malan Flower)” — Owen Wu (Year 5), Peter Zhang (Year 4), Ian Wang (Year 4), Louis Bai (Year 4), and Shelby Baker

• “小苹果 (Little Apple)” — Reinhold Mayer, Edric Ng, Isaac Fa, Hamilton Ooi, Tommy James, George Jeffries, Liam Bikdeli from Year 2

• “熊猫花花 + 两只老虎 (Panda Huahua and Two Tigers)” — Reinhold Mayer, Edric Ng, Isaac Fa, Hamilton Ooi, Tommy James from Year 2 and Logan Muthiah, Isaac Tiong, Gus Beckett, Aiden Maghsoudi, Noah Campbell, Nyasha Mbizvo from Year 3

Our Junior School boys performed Little Apple and Panda Huahua and Two Tigers on stage, receiving warm applause and enthusiastic feedback from the audience. Their performances reflected not only their musical and linguistic ability but also their confidence and joy in learning Chinese.

Congratulations to all the boys for their remarkable efforts and achievements and thank you to the parents for their ongoing support in making this celebration of Chinese culture such a success.
