Barista Boys is a successful initiative in our Junior School which grows with each year it runs. Every Thursday and Friday, Year 6 students step into their roles as baristas, serving up coffee, hot chocolates, and brownies to the School community. This year, they raised an impressive $6,000 for Catherine House, a local charity dedicated to supporting women experiencing homelessness.

The funds were presented last week at the Junior School Assembly, where the fundraising and campaign coordinator, Molly Dyer, from Catherine House graciously accepted the donation and shared inspiring insights about the impact these funds will have. With accommodation costs at $152 per night for one woman, the $6,000 raised by our students will fund six weeks of safe shelter, meals, and essential services. This contribution offers a life-changing opportunity for someone in need, allowing them a secure environment to regain independence.

Ms Dyer’s words at the assembly reinforced the idea that anyone, regardless of age, can make a difference. We are incredibly proud of our students’ commitment and hard work, which has proven that even small actions can lead to meaningful change. The Barista Boys are not only developing new skills but also making a lasting positive impact on their community.

Thank you, Barista Boys. You are much more than a café; you’re an initiative with heart.
