31 July 2025
Our Prep to Year 3 Bastille Day Celebrations for 2025 were held on the last Wednesday of Term 2.
The boys and staff, who were dressed in blue, white and red, assembled in the Avenues and marched to the Da Costa Dining Room. The Headmaster Mr Browning greeted the mob at the door, and we descended the stairs with much anticipation. The dining room was decorated in the French colours and the aroma of fresh croissants and hot chocolate wafted through the air.
The morning began with ‘Alouette’ and ‘Au Clair de la Lune’ performed by the Year 3 Strings group accompanied by Ms Sharon Morley.
We were then treated to a French rap version of “Un, deux, trois nous irons au Bois” performed by the Year 1 and 2 boys with Dimitris Psaltis, William Rudkin and Henely Vandermoer from Year 2M doing their incredible rap dance moves for us.
Mme McLachlan and Mr Browning presented some French Certificates to students from all year levels who had demonstrated enthusiasm and dedication in their learning this year.
The students, who had waited very patiently, were then served their huge and delicious warm croissants and hot chocolate.
I would like to congratulate all the boys and staff for embracing the St Peter’s College French National Day Celebrations and for working so well in their French lessons.
I would like to thank the Staff and Prefects involved for helping to make Bastille Day 2025 such a success.
Madame Marcia McLachlan
