St Peters’ College Junior School boys celebrated Bastille Day this year in Week 8 of Term 2. French students from Reception to Year 6 sang with much gusto as they marched down The Avenues on their way to the Da Costa Dining Room to enjoy a French Morning Tea. The Dining Hall had been decorated for the occasion. Students dressed in French colours filled Da Costa Dining Hall and eagerly participated in this very French event devouring fresh croissants and enjoying some hot chocolate.

Our learning was on display as we sang “Sur le pont d’Avignon” and “Chante”, the Year 3 Strings played “Au Clair de le Lune and Kaeshav Rajasekaren (Year 3) sung ‘The French Song’. Certificates were for Show and Tell, Counting the Eiffel Towers in the French Room and for enthusiasm and attitude.

Thank you to the staff and prefects who helped with the set-up, serving and pack up on the day. Thank you also to Mrs Jasmine Taylor and the Junior School Leadership Team for their support and also to Chartwell’s Catering.

A final well done and thank you to Madame McLachlan, Miss Procopio, Ms Hanna and Monsieur Becker for your efforts in creating a wonderful event for our students.

“Vive La France!”
“Merci beaucoup à tous.”
