Congratulations to Year 11 student Johnny for receiving the “Don Burrows Memorial Award for the Best Emerging Improviser” at the recent ABODA SA Band and Orchestra Festival. Johnny was selected for the award from all individual improvised solos in the Advanced Stage Band division.
This is another great example of Johnny’s consistency as an outstanding improviser, having also been selected for and winning the “Future Finalist” award at the Generations in Jazz competition in May.
