Many students and parents who attended Athletics Carnival on Friday would’ve been familiar with the Blue Threads tent after seeking refuge from the rain underneath it. Hopefully many of you also came to snatch up some good quality clothing bargains or take a guess on the lolly jar. The stall raised over $450 on the day – a fantastic achievement!
Blue Threads was established in 2023 as a social enterprise, to raise funds to support the school’s ongoing provision of respite care to vulnerable members of the community by selling second hand clothes.
With appearances at Summer House Sports Day, Community Day and now Athletics Carnival, the Blue Threads stall is now becoming a staple of our community events. The team extends a thank you to everyone who came out to support the school’s ongoing service activities, and delivery of opportunities to students to involve themselves in social enterprise.
Congratulations to Sean (Year 12, FRR) who guessed the closest to the correct number of lollies (at a whopping 1022 lollies).
Thank you to Mr Ed Ruediger for your support on the day managing the stall and Ms Louise Firth for your hard work in mentoring the committee this year.
