Year 10 Commerce students had the opportunity to experience a day at UniSA’s City West Campus on Monday 28 July. Hosted by UniSA and the University of Adelaide under the banner of Adelaide University, students heard from Rory Sloane about his business, Footy Faces, and some of the challenges he and his business partner faced in its early stages.

Matthew Hyde ran a session on how to present with confidence, and students took part in workshops across Economics, Accounting and Finance, Marketing, and Brand Management, led by current lecturers. They then pitched a business idea that incorporated everything they had learnt throughout the day. Teams included students from St Peter’s College, Sacred Heart College and Roma Mitchell Secondary College.

All students engaged well throughout the day and came away with new skills they can apply in any future career.
