We extend our sincere thanks to all who attended the 2025 Capturing Connections SALA Exhibition at St Peter’s College, in the beautiful heritage Ballroom of Athelney House. It was a pleasure to welcome over 150 guests who joined us in celebrating the remarkable portraiture of The Young Archies Portraiture Group, the accomplished work of our Arts Faculty Staff, and the outstanding contributions of our distinguished guest artists: Ms Tsering Hannaford, Ms Sophie Hann, and Ms Sara Boni.
This special event highlighted the breadth of artistic talent within our community and the powerful role of portraiture in expressing identity and creating connection. We are pleased to share that proceeds from the sale of artworks at this year’s SALA Exhibition will be donated to The Smith Family Foundation, in support of their vital mission to help young Australians overcome educational disadvantage caused by poverty.
This donation complements St Peter’s College ongoing connections with the foundation. Many of our readers will already be aware that St Peter’s College students are actively involved in volunteering with the Smith Family Foundation Buddy Reading Program, providing mentorship and literacy support to young people within the program. Students of Young Archies Portraiture Group cocurricular are currently in the early stages of developing their major portrait for the 2026 Young Archie Competition.
This is an exciting and formative period in their creative journey. The support and encouragement from our community have been instrumental in inspiring each student to pursue excellence and strive for their personal best. We look forward to showcasing their completed works with you in the new year.
