The Careers Evening continues to be an integral part of the Careers program at St Peter’s College and an important event on the School’s calendar.

On Tuesday 16 March, in what was our 21st Careers Evening, over 330 students and parents attended to hear from volunteer presenters from 35 different industries. These presenters included apprenticeship agencies, old scholars, current and former parents, university staff and entrepreneurs. It was particularly pleasing to see some industries represented for the first time, particularly in the technology and design space.

The benefits for the students who attended were significant. For the Year 10 students, this event was particularly important as it is linked to the learning undertaken in the compulsory SACE Personal Learning Plan subject which in turn helps them select their Year 11 subjects.

The evening is underpinned by generous contributions from volunteer presenters, many of whom are old scholars. We are fortunate for the support we received from the St Peter’s Old Collegians and in particular from Mrs Anne Bawden.
