This year, we are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students in the Oliphant Science Awards, a prestigious competition that brings together young minds from Reception to Year 12 across South Australia. The competition encourages curiosity and creativity, providing students with the opportunity to explore the world of science in a variety of ways.

The Oliphant Science Awards aims to develop students’ interest in science through a wide range of categories. Whether it’s designing experiments, creating models, composing science-based multimedia, or showcasing scientific research, there’s something for everyone. This broad variety of categories means each student can explore science in a way that suits their strengths and passions.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all those who participated this year. Each of the students have taken steps to improve their scientific literacy, have investigated new ideas, or shared creative solution and shown that science is not just about facts, but about discovery, inquiry, and creative problem-solving.

A special congratulations goes to our highly commended winners:

Asher Oh (Year 2) for his poster on chemical change
Ian Haque (Year 4) for his models and inventions project on water purification
Lucas Peries (Year 4) for his programming, apps, and robotics project “G-Force Training”
