At St Peter’s College, the CEO-in-Residence program offers a unique opportunity for students to learn directly from old scholars who have excelled in their careers in a variety of ways. Success is not defined by wealth or status; it comes in many forms, from personal satisfaction to making a positive impact on others. By returning to the School, these leaders share valuable insights from their professional and personal journeys, showing that achievement can be about pursuing passions, overcoming challenges, or contributing to the community. Through open discussions and mentorship, the program provides students with a real-world perspective on different paths to success, offering practical advice on leadership, resilience and finding fulfillment. This connection between past and present reinforces the strength of our School community while inspiring the next generation of leaders.
Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Zane Walker (SHT 2018), back to St Peter’s College as part of our CEO-in-Residence program. Jordan (Year 10), wrote the below reflection about Zane’s visit.

Zane Walker is part of The Adelaide University Motorsport Team (AUMT), a student-led team that designs, builds, and races an open-wheel, formula-style electric vehicle as part of the international Formula SAE competition.
Zane and AUMT provided a workshop session for Years 9 and 10 Technology students regarding STEM and motorsport pathways along with showcasing the cars and projects in Big School Room. They discussed the process of building a motor vehicle, touching on project management, finances, engineering skills and comprehensive testing.
To develop the boys’ engineering skills, students were split into groups and were tasked with cushioning the impact of a small model car, demonstrating the importance of teamwork and critical thinking in an engineering environment. After the activity, some boys were invited to have a chat with the team over lunch, with an opportunity to gain insights about AUMT and the car they built. Overall, it was an amazing chance to learn more about engineering courses at Adelaide University for the boys involved.
