30 September 2022
During the month of September our students were fortunate enough to work with a proud member of Young House, Mr David Rohrsheim (YNG 1999) as part of our CEO-in-Residence Program.
In small and large group sessions, students were inspired by Mr Rohrsheim’s knowledge and advice. He shared the ingredients for Innovation and Entrepreneurship including “adaptability, teamwork, embracing new tech, willingness to be laughed at, and don’t wait.” He reminded the boys to find what inspires them, to find their passions and pursue them.
On Thursday 1 September Mr Rohrsheim spoke to Year 11 Legal Studies students about the political grass roots movement in bringing UBER to Australia. With Year 11 Business Innovation he discussed the concept of Disruption of the Market. Mr Rohrsheim returned the following day to speak to the Year 11 Economics students about UBER and Surge Pricing where UBER’s goal was to find a ride for anybody that needs one. He also shared Stock Market tips with 70 Year 9 Commerce students.
The students were grateful for the opportunity to connect real world experience and knowledge to add depth to their classroom studies.
