On 22nd May, almost 250 students from our Senior School competed in the Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) Competition. This is an annual competition run by the Australian Mathematics Trust, giving students the opportunity to develop their problem-solving skills through algorithmic thinking.
Our school had some exceptional results, with 18 of our students receiving a Distinction (Top 15% in Australia), three receiving a High Distinction (Top 2% in Australia) and two students receiving prize awards (issued at the discretion of the AMT for outstanding achievement).
I congratulate these students on their excellent achievements, and the many other students who gave it a go and added to their experience in mathematical competitions.
