UCAT 2019
The University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) is an admissions test used by many universities in Australia and New Zealand in their selection process for their medical, dental and clinical science degree programmes. The UCAT ANZ test replaces the UMAT (Undergraduate Medical and Health Sciences Admission Test) this year. The test helps universities to select applicants with the most appropriate abilities and professional behaviours required for doctors and dentists to be successful in their clinical careers. The UCAT is a computer-based test delivered in Pearson VUE test centres throughout Australia, New Zealand and at some overseas locations.

Registration for the UCAT opens on 1 March and closes on 17 May. The UCAT is a two-hour computer-based test consisting of five separately timed subtests, each of which contains a number of questions in a multiple-choice format. The test sittings are held between 1 and 31 July. For a listing of universities requiring the UCAT, please click here. For more details of the UCAT, go to https://www.ucat.edu.au/ucat-anz/.

International Student Admission Test – ISAT
International students currently studying in Australia and who are considering applying for Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary Science or Physiotherapy at some institutions in Australia, will need to sit the ISAT. ISAT is a three-hour computer based test that can be held at various times during the year, and closing mid February. Applicants MUST check with each institution to determine the deadline for the ISAT results being received.

For more information on the ISAT click here. The list of universities requiring ISAT can be found at https://isat.acer.org/universities

Australian National University (ANU) application and selection processes
ANU has changed the application requirements (including an earlier application deadline) and selection criteria for undergraduate courses. Details of the new requirements can be found here.

Auction Idol
Auction Idol is a competition run by the Society of Auctioneers & Appraisers in South Australia. Participants are instructed in auctioneering principles and the practical aspects of conducting an auction will be taught by the mentor from the Society. The competition provides an insight into the profession and develops a number of related skills such as public speaking and thinking on your feet. Year 10, 11 and 12 boys interested in real estate careers or even just want to improve their public speaking and communication skills would benefit from participating in the competition. The students will be coached by some of the leading auctioneers and real estate identities in Adelaide and it is not a long term or time consuming commitment.
