Yet again, the past fortnight has given us opportunity and reason to celebrate the many passions and pursuits we work toward here at St Peter’s College. We’ve seen a cast of students engaged in musical, sporting and academic endeavours; from ICAS competitions to a sensational day of Winter House Games, which could have been coined Spring House Games on account of the glorious weather. We have much to be grateful for.
Compliments to the Swing Band who performed at The Gov last Wednesday night. They absolutely held their own alongside our Senior School students. In further Music news, congratulations to all students and staff involved in the SA School Band and Orchestra Festival held at Westminster School this week. We are so proud of the following ensembles who were not only presented gold awards but were judged overall section winners too!
· Preparatory Band
· Junior School String Orchestra
· Junior School Concert Band
I have also been extremely impressed by the students involved in the Young Archies project. I loved seeing your artwork on display at the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) festival exhibition in Athelney House last week and do hope our involvement in the famed Archibald Prize inspired pilot program continues to grow in the years ahead.
Thank you to my colleagues for their ongoing dedication to providing such a broad range of opportunities to our students and to our parent community for supporting us in all we do.
Have a lovely weekend when it comes and I look forward to seeing you around the grounds for the excitement of Book Week next week.
