St Peter’s College is delighted to celebrate the 50th Lipman Fellow with Gill Hicks AM MBE delivering a public lecture on Wednesday 20 June 2018.
The Rex J Lipman Fellows program brings the world’s best thinkers and leaders to the School to encourage and motivate our students. Each fellow also delivers a public lecture giving everyone in the community the opportunity to discuss, debate and engage with leaders and commentators from a diverse range of fields. Previous fellows include Baroness Susan Greenfield CBE, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg, Professor Lea Waters and The Very Rev’d Dr Andreas Loewe Professor James Haire AC. As a School we passionately believe in the value of education and public debate, and are delighted to be able to bring such distinguished national and international speakers to the broader South Australian community.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from Gill Hicks MBE. Globally renowned as an advocate for sustainable peace and a valuable resource in countering violent extremism, Gill Hicks is widely considered one of the world’s most thought-provoking, powerful and life-affirming speakers. Her devotion to making a personal greater contribution and positive difference to the urgency of building peace was realised when she was made permanently injured in the London bombings on 7 July 2005.
