This week, our Year 7 Drama students had the opportunity to take part in an engaging and hands-on workshop with Andrew Crupi, a well-known actor and specialist in commedia dell’arte.

Students were introduced to the classic stock characters of commedia, exploring each character’s unique mask, personality and exaggerated physicality. Under Andrew’s guidance, they worked hard to refine the movements and gestures that bring these characters to life on stage.

Andrew also shared his professional experience and deep knowledge of this centuries-old theatre tradition. Students responded with enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and fully immersing themselves in the performance style. The skills they learned will now be applied to their own commedia performances later this term.

Bravo to our Year 7 performers for their energy, curiosity and creativity!
