On Tuesday 5 November, the Year 11 English as an Additional Language students participated in an excursion to the Art Gallery of South Australia as part of their final unit on controversial art. The boys had a celebration lunch at the Art Gallery café and then were tasked with finding controversial artwork throughout the gallery. On their return to school, the students walked through the Botanic Gardens and saw some of the Chihuly glass sculptures currently on display.

The following day, on Wednesday 6 November, the Middle Years English as an Additional Language students participated in a day-long excursion to Monarto Safari Park. The boys had a guided tour of the park, which included seeing the lions, cheetahs and baby giraffes. A highlight was when the hyenas chased the bus out of their enclosure. After a lunch at the café, the students completed some of the walking trails around the park, visiting the meerkats, chimpanzees and giraffes. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable day, although we were disappointed to visit one week before the first elephant arrived at Monarto.

I would like to thank the EAL staff for their support on both excursions.
