On Monday the 1 November, Years 7 to 9 English as an Additional Language classes went on a day trip to Monarto. The boys participated in a Safari tour where they were able to see African animals up close, including an inquisitive giraffe who licked the bus. The boys learnt about endangered animals in the wild and how zoos such as Monarto look after these animals. After the tour the boys enjoyed a chicken schnitzel lunch and dessert. Wei Hong (Year 8) stated that “overall, the excursion to Monarto Zoo was fun. I really enjoy viewing the animals that we don’t normally see up close such as lions, giraffes, cheetahs and more”.

I would like to thank the staff members Ms Monica McCauley, Ms Irene Castrechini-Sutton and Ms Emily Lewis who accompanied the boys on the day and for their support in this excursion.
