The Chinese Society recently hosted a Mahjong Tournament, introducing students to one of the most well-known traditional Chinese games. The event offered an engaging opportunity to learn, compete, and connect through a shared cultural experience. With guidance from Society members, students quickly picked up the rules and actively participated. Held over three consecutive weeks during lunchtime, the tournament generated strong enthusiasm and friendly competition, with students demonstrating focus, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
Congratulations to the winners:
1st place: Mason Qian (Yr 11 HWD)
2nd place: Yu Chen Goh (Yr 12 FLL), Mark Lian (Yr 8 SHT)
3rd place: Godwin Suen (Yr 11 S&A), Lucas Ye (Yr 11 S&A)
Beyond the competition, the event highlighted the cultural significance of Mahjong while supporting the development of communication and problem-solving skills. The Chinese Society looks forward to hosting more cultural events next term.
