Congratulations to James Lin (Year 12) who has just returned from competing internationally in figure skating at the Asian Open in the Philippines, where he placed 15th among more than 170 skaters from 19 countries, and at the Crystal Challenge in Melbourne, where he achieved second place. Earlier this year James also recorded strong results at other qualifying events:
- Panda Challenge, Adelaide (11–13 April) – Frist place
- Oceania International, Melbourne (26–28 May) – Second place (among 63 skaters from 8 countries)
Reflecting on his international experience, James said:
“Competing against Asia’s top junior skaters was a huge learning experience and has motivated me to step up my game.”
He is now preparing for the Swan International Trophy in Perth later this month, the South Australian State Championships in October and the Australian Figure Skating Championships in December. Good luck to James as he defends his two year title of reigning South Australian State Junior Men’s Champion.
