On Saturday, 2 May, approximately 60 Year 3 families ventured to Finniss, our Outdoor Education Centre, to enjoy an afternoon together.

Despite the rain, families enjoyed exploring the site, including a walk down to the lagoon, time on the oval, and visits to the dormitories and gym. The afternoon provided a great opportunity for boys and their families to connect with others while becoming familiar with the Centre, which will become an important part of their Year 3 camp later this year and their outdoor education journey beyond Year 3.

It was wonderful to have Daniel Sharp, Head of Outdoor Education, at Finniss to greet families and share the history of the site, along with some of the exciting activities that will form part of the Year 3 camping experience. Thank you, Daniel, for your support.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the St Peter’s College Foundation for generously providing the ice cream and coffee van for families to enjoy throughout the afternoon. Following the 2024 Junior School Annual Appeal, which focused on Finniss, the Foundation has supported a number of significant improvements across the site, including upgrades to the boat docks, renovated ablution facilities, a new water safety fence, and enhancements to the kitchen and dining areas. The van was a thoughtful gesture of appreciation for families and a celebration of the shared support that continues to enhance this unique environment for our students.

We look forward to seeing the boys embark on their camp later in Term 3 with confidence and a strong sense of excitement for the adventure ahead.
