A season of soccer as part of the First XI Squad is a wonderful opportunity. The time spent with mates, playing the game you love and taking on challenge after challenge is extremely rewarding. The First XI overseas tour to the UK was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
The First XI Soccer team travelled to the UK on a pre-season tour in the Term 1 holidays. The group played seven matches against club, academy and school teams and trained at iconic clubs including Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and at the English Football Association. Some other highlights of the tour included watching live premier league and champions league matches, visiting famous stadiums and British landmarks, and having a personal tour of the Houses of Parliament.
The scores for the matches were as follows:
- Match 1 – St Peter’s College 2 v Egerton FC 3
- Match 2 – St Peter’s College 3 v Rainhill FC 0
- Match 3 – St Peter’s College 4 v Litchfield FC 1
- Match 4 – St Peter’s College 3 v Brentford Community Academy 3
- Match 5 – St Peter’s College 1 v Marshall Park Academy 2
- Match 6 – St Peter’s College 3 v Mill Hill School 1
- Match 7 – St Peter’s College 5 v Forest School 1
A wonderful experience and the students should be congratulated for the way they represented the School.
