In Weeks 8 and 9, Years 7 and 9 French students had the opportunity to attend the Alliance Française French Film Festival. The Year 7 students saw the award-winning film ‘Arco’, following the journey of a ten-year-old time traveller who visits the year 2075 and covering the themes of family, independence, friendship and environmentalism.
In contrast the Year 9 students saw the film ‘Jean Valjean’, a deep and emotive tale covering the themes of freedom, social justice and redemption. A prequel to the famous ‘Les Misérables’, it was a poignant drama that was an insight into the trials of living in France in the early 19th century. I would like to thank the staff who supported the excursions.
