The Junior Primary students were fortunate to have two visits from some Senior School French students this term.
Some Year 7 boys, accompanied by Mesdames Castrechini-Sutton and Spiby, shared their Monument projects with us. The Reception and Year 1 boys were fascinated by the new French landmarks created by the Year 7s using Minecraft but were concerned their beloved Eiffel Tower may be replaced in the Year 7 imaginary scenarios.
Reception T and B had a wonderful session with some talented Year 10 boys who wrote some very interesting stories and created iBooks to share. It was wonderful for the Junior Primary boys to work with some older students and to see the Senior boys’ enthusiasm for the French language and culture. We then all shared a delicious French afternoon tea.
The following students of French, Kaeshav Rajasekaran (Reception), Nicholas Savvouilidis (Year 3) , Sean Ran (Year 7), Bailey Kerr (Year 7) and Henry Robertson (Year 7), were all rewarded for their efforts at the Alliance Française/ SAFTA Presentation evening which was held on 30 October. Each student received a certificate and a prize from SAFTA, the South Australian French Teachers’ Association. Congratulations boys on your dedication and hard work during French lessons.
