This is Sonny Driver (Year 10). Sonny is from a remote cattle station called Elkedra outside Alice Springs, and is a resident of our Boarding House. Due to COVID-19 and the state border closures, Sonny spent most of Term 2 learning remotely. When the Northern Territory border opened to South Australia on 17 June, Sonny was so eager to attend the Year 10 Journey in the Flinders Ranges, he and his mum travelled 2000kms arriving at the campsite to the great surprise of his fellow boarders.
He was able to join the camp at the halfway point determined not to miss the opportunity to experience the Year 10 Journey; something he had been looking forward to since joining the School in Year 7.
We look forward to welcoming Sonny back to the Boarding House in Term 3, and are grateful that his family travelled thousands of kilometres to ensure he could join his peers on this special journey.
