On Wednesday, Archie and I were fortunate enough to attend Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson’s student leadership gala at Government House. Learning about the history of Government House and South Australia, from the Governor herself was a great honour. Additionally, we were also incredibly fortunate to speak to her one-on-one and ask questions about leadership.
All of the minerals found in South Australia were on display, along with a grand piano from the 1800’s and a rare book collection. The building itself was beautiful, with high ceilings, walls adorned with portraits, and flower bouquets lining every table. This was also a great opportunity to meet other student leaders, and to reconnect with others that we know from hosting the National Student Leadership Summit.
On another note, last week Archie and I went on excursion with the Year 4 cohort to the South Australian Museum. The boys were first tasked with learning about First Nation peoples’ history and completing tasks set out by their teachers. This was also a great chance for Archie and I to learn as well while helping the boys locate artifacts for their tasks.
Looking at the remainder of Term 3, which is rapidly coming to an end, we’re looking forward to Blue Week and the Blue & White.
