At the start of Week 3 we had the privilege of hearing from Dave Kramer, a Behavioural Scientist and Violence Prevention Advocate, as part of the Rex J Lipman Fellows Program. His session on respectful relationships, under our school’s theme ‘strong and lovely,’ was incredibly impactful. Dave shared his personal journey, including the tragic loss of his friend Hannah Clarke, which led him to pioneer the HALT Program. His message was powerful: true strength comes from understanding, compassion, and supporting one another. Dave’s talk challenged us to rethink how we view masculinity and how we can contribute to a safer, more inclusive environment at school. His insights resonated deeply, reminding us that it’s okay to be vulnerable and that we all have a role to play in supporting each other.

On a different note, Week 3 also featured one of the best Battle of the Bands we’ve ever seen at St Peter’s College. The competition was fierce, and the energy was electric as bands from different houses rocked the stage. A huge congratulations to Da Costa House for taking home the win with a performance of ‘Ghostbusters’. Their talent and creativity were next level. We also want to give a special shoutout to John Brewster from The Angels (HWD 1966) for joining us as a judge and performer. His presence added an extra layer of excitement to the event, and it was clear that this year’s competition has set a new standard.

This start to Term 3 has been a powerful reminder of the talent, strength, and community we have here at St Peter’s College. Whether through Dave Kramer’s inspiring words or the incredible performances at Battle of the Bands, it’s clear that we’re all working together to make our school a better place and we as captains can’t wait to keep doing so.

Look out for some exciting things coming soon, especially Intercol where boys have been chanting and preparing to show some serious school spirit.
