There are moments, when the God of the universe will send you a message. Some of these moments will not be subtle. I’ll use a simile: it is like when you’re coming down from Norton Summit on your bicycle, having reached 60 km/h, and you lock up the back wheel, causing you to miss the corner. You hit the asphalt hard and end up spending two days in hospital with a severe concussion. I realise this is fairly specific example! Obviously, God doesn’t cause bicycle accidents. However, sometimes the universe will give you very specific, very loud messages. You need to pay attention and listen. What is the God of the universe trying to tell me?

The most beautiful, the most wonderful moments, though, will be as subtle as the gentle evening breeze on a hot summer’s night in Adelaide. You know those evenings when you can hardly move and you’re outside, perhaps after a family BBQ, and there is just a hint of breeze, a whisper really, and it cools you down a just a tiny bit? It’s so gentle, that, if you’re rushing inside to watch the cricket, you won’t feel it – but if you linger, just for a moment, looking at the extraordinary stars in our astonishing Milky Way Galaxy, you may just feel it. There will be those moments, when the universe is ever so gently nudging you in a different direction. Pay attention to that breeze. It will be life-giving. You will experience the most sublime beauty possible.
