The past two weeks have been incredibly lively and eventful in the Junior School, with Book Week, Intercol, Robotics Championships, Chinese Language Teachers Association Awards Ceremony, Assemblies, ICAS Competitions, and Photo Day all taking place.

Book Week
Congratulations to everyone for the incredible costumes showcased at the Book Parade! A special thanks to the Headmaster and the Junior School Leadership Team for collaborating on the team dress-up inspired by Julia Donaldson’s “Room on the Broom” characters. The creativity and collegiality evident in the costumes was wonderful. We are fortunate to have such a passionate Library Team promoting a positive attitude towards reading. If you haven’t already, visit the Library to view the Wall of Wands and find your son’s Premier Reading Challenge wand! Reading truly is magic in our Library space.

Winter Sport and Intercol
With Winter Sport coming to a close, it was impressive to see so many Junior School students supporting each other across all fixtures during Intercol week. Even our youngest Reception and Year 1 students turned up in full winter uniform to support Senior School First teams. This pride and respect for our School and each other is truly commendable. Well done to all students who were excellent competitors, communicators, and companions over the winter season.

Robotics State Championships
On Monday, we hosted the Robotics State Championships in the Burchnall Sports Centre. It was excellent to see teams from SPSC place in the top three in many categories, with further teams placing in the top 10. Well done to all teams involved and to Colin Becker for his leadership of our Robotics program.

Chinese Language Teachers Association Awards Ceremony
It was an honor to host the Chinese Language Teachers Association of SA Awards ceremony last Friday night. Congratulations to Shelby Baker and Yequing Morton, our Chinese teachers, for their efforts in planning and preparing for the evening. It was excellent to see so many of our students receive awards and a group of Years 1 and 2 students join Year 3 students from Westminster in performing beautifully together. Language is more than just a means of communication; it is a bridge that connects us, fostering empathy and mutual respect. The CLTASA event was an exceptional showcase of this!

Thank you to parents for supporting your sons in their incredibly varied pursuits. We love working with your sons and couldn’t do what we do without your support.

Have an excellent weekend!

Deputy Headmaster / Head of Junior School
