I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to the new term. It’s fantastic to see our boys looking smart in their summer uniforms, with top buttons undone, socks up, and polished school shoes (not black trainers pretending to be school shoes!).
Avenue of Honour for Year 12 Students
Last week, our students and staff formed a guard of honour for our departing Year 12 students. It is such a special occasion to see the School community honouring those who are concluding their journey at SPSC and about to embark on a new chapter in their lives. Some of the boys who walked through the avenue high fiving our 5 year olds through to our Year 6s have been students at our School for up to 15 years. The occasion serves not only as a right of passage for the students who are graduating, but also as something to look forward to and aspire to for our youngest boys.
Year 6 Canberra Trip
I am incredibly proud of our Year 6 students who ventured to Canberra during the holidays. They represented SPSC with pride, wearing their uniforms impeccably, asking intelligent and considerate questions, and supporting each other while being away from home. A big thank you to the staff who facilitated this trip, spending time away from their own families to make this possible for our students.
Year 5 Leadership Applications
As 2025 approaches, Year 5 students are readying themselves to be the student leaders of the Junior School. I would like to commend the Year 5 boys who have written expressions of interest for Student Leadership roles in 2025. It has been excellent to read specific examples of how our Year 5 students have demonstrated our School values and character strengths throughout their time in the Junior School and not just in Year 5. This shows that leadership is not just about having a captain’s badge; it’s about living our School values every day.
Wishing you a restful weekend.

Head of Junior School
